The fair is going to take place from 15 to 18 May this year at the Centre Fiera del Levante, which is situated in Bari. The main theme of this branch event will be the expansion of the European stone industry into the markets of the Balkans and the Near East. The fair will be held in a very modern hall Fiera del Levante, which was opened in 2012.

The pavilion’s area is about 20,000 sq metres. One of the greatest advantages of Medi Stone Expo 2013 is a huge potential hidden in Italian stone industry. Central and southern Italy are particularly important for the branch as regards both the number and characteristics of varieties of marble and the stone extracted in the quarries there. Promoting Italian stone industry as well as the above mentioned expansion into the markets of the Near East and the Balkans are main goals of the event. The organisers of the Italian fair are expecting that many companies from Apulia as well as from other regions of Italy will attend Medi Stone Expo 2013.   

There will be also representatives of Russia, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, the Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt. On Wednesday (15 May) the annual report “Stone Sector 2013” will be presented. The document describes the current situation and the prospects of international trade of stone goods.
