This year’s 59th edition of the balance includes data concerning almost 13,000 Polish mineral deposits, that is over half a thousand more than in the previous year.

“The balance of mineral resources deposits” reveals the most important information about the state of their management and the volume of extraction. The statement prepared by experts from Państwowy Instytut Geologiczny (the National Geological Institute) is a huge compendium of knowledge. The knowledge about deposits is a basis for planning various actions related with balancing minerals for next years.

The information about documented resources has been grouped according to the kind and destination of the mineral and has been put into tables to which short descriptions have been added. This year, together with the printed publication, the website “Mineral resources of Poland” including “The balance of mineral resources deposits in Poland” (in PDF file) has been made available. The electronic version gives additional information about particular mineral groups and a direct connection to the application lets the user access the register of deposits and the register of mining regions and areas.
