1,300 TONS OF PORTUGUESE GRANITE TO PLAC EUROPEJSKI
Plac Europejski (the European square) is a square-to-be in Warsaw, which is going to be built just by the Warsaw Spire. The Portuguese stone will cover the square in Wola district at the corner of Grzybowska and Towarowa streets.
The same granite was used around the famous pyramid situated in the Louvre courtyard. The project of Plac Europejski was prepared by Wirtz International Landscape Architects studio from Belgium. Its workers prepared, among others, projects of the Elysee Palace Gardens and Jubilee Park in London.
Ghelamco company is in charge of implementing the project. The concept involves creating a leisure place in the business centre of Warsaw. There we can find, for example, an amphitheatre, a viewing terrace, a restaurant and outdoor bars, benches, and a lot of greenery. A cascade stream with a closed water circuit is supposed to go across the whole square. It is going to start from the lake surrounded by woods, whilst the outlet will be in the fountain situated by one of the buildings of the Warsaw Spire complex.
