Stonemasons from Lodz are getting orders for the next year now. In order to erect a tombstone before November 1st, the Lodz residents placed their orders as early as in July. Now the stonemasons are receiving orders for the next year. - Many customers buy tombstones just before the All Saints Day, says Bogdan Ciechowicz from a stone company in Ogrodowa street. - They want to commemorate their beloved dead this way.
Surprisingly enough, we are selling both very cheap tombstones and the most expensive ones. Nobody is buying the average (as regards the price) tombstones. Many Łódź residents have ordered light coloured tombstones made of terazzo and of Polish granite which cost about 2000 PLN (about 470 euro). There are also many people who want to have their tombstones made of dark granite from Sweden, India and Africa (from 6000 to 8000 PLN - 1400 - 1900 euro). L-shaped tombstones are the most popular. - They have a special shelf where you can put flowers and ever-burning fires.
