LAMINAM FACTORY IN ITALY
Production of the largest sintered quartz slabs (size: 1620 x 3240 mm) was officially launched in early October in a new factory in Italian province Parma. This is another key investment of LAMINAM after increasing the capacity in its main factory in Fiorano Modenese last year.
- After purchasing some facilities and investing in technology (worth 35 million euros), we created a new, extremely effective and fully automatic sintered quartz factory which will double the capacity of our company – said Alberto Selmi, CEO at Laminam.
- It will help to satisfy growing demand for LAMINAM slabs both in Italy and abroad.
The production plant located in the area of more than 44,000 m2 was purchased by the Italians in December 2015. Then it underwent a quick development. The machinery park was equipped with the latest technologies, for example the latest LAMGEA pressing system with the pressure force of 34,000 tons. Thanks to the fact that fine quartz dust comes directly onto the belt and not to ready moulds, the slab which is created is free from any stress and can spread freely under the machine's pressure. Consequently, we can get a slab which is perfectly regular, repeatable, of very high quality and in a very large format. It is worth to highlight that the modern production system allows for reducing energy by as much as 70%. Additional new thing applied in the factory is a two-tier, hybrid stove. It helps to double the line productivity. As a result, the final customer does not have to wait for a material too long.
The production in the new factory will be concentrated on the largest LAMINAM slabs (1620 x 3240mm), which are available in different thickness, including 12 mm. They can be applied both inside (wall and floor finishing) and outside the buildings (elevations). Slabs from Laminam XL 12+ line have a characteristic feature – they can be used to create extremely resistant kitchen and bathroom tops. More information about Laminam slabs:
