In May Carrara will become the capital city of the world stone industry again. The International Stone and Machinery Fair in Carrara is, besides the fairs in Nuremberg and Verona, third largest European branch exhibition. This year Marmotecc fair is going to focus on promoting raw materials and finished products made of natural stone with particular emphasis on scientific research and innovations.

During the four-day event we will be able to see everything which is related to extraction, transport and stone processing, starting from machines for open-pit mining and finishing with cutting and processing equipment. There will be also accessories for working in decorative rocks, sepulchral art, sculptures, and stone itself (in blocks and plates). This year the programme of the event is going to concentrate mainly on promoting local types of marble. Like every year, Marble Architectural Awards will be presented to the winners during the fair. Many more events during the fair will help to promote natural stone. There will be many branch delegations, including the representatives of the Regional Authorities of Tuscany and the Chamber of Commerce. Also Consorzio Carrara Export, which deals with direct support and assistance with organising promotional activities and matchmaking of stone companies, confirmed its participation in the fair.
