Italian group Pellegrini Meccanica SpA, a famous (in Poland) manufacturer of machines for diamond wire cutting, has introduced to one of its most popular machines (a multi-wire gang saw Pentawire) a new solution allowing for the change of the track of wheels (the change of the thickness of slabs being cut) without removing wheels from the shaft.
Wheels and drive drums with a large diameter (2350 mm) ensure optimum working conditions for a diamond wire – a minimum stress being a result of bending the wire during work.
A patented two-stage dancer system Multipull ensures the stress of every wire with the same strength. Driving wheels are made of aerospace aluminium alloy. The machines allow for simultaneous work of 5 wires. In the new version of this machine, thanks to a special device, you can change the location of each of 4 wheels individually, obtaining various thicknesses of slabs being cut. The first wheel always remains in the same place. The thickness of slabs being cut may be regulated in the range of 21 to 121 mm.
