SCHOOL FOR STONEMASONS-TO-BE
The new school will be set up at the Border Protection Corps School Complex in Szydłowiec. This new professional first-level school will be teaching students who want to become stonemasons. Middle school graduates are free to submit their applications to the school office by 28 June 2017.
The new school in Szydłowiec is to offer top quality education which will be guaranteed by well-qualified staff and vocational trainings at various companies (with full-time contracts). The students will have an opportunity to get scholarships, commuter allowance (to and from school) as well as an opportunity to obtain additional qualifications. Establishing this school is a response to the growing demand on the market.
Stone industry in Szydłowiec is 600 years old and its tradition is passed on from generation to generation. The lack of stonemasons there has been a problem for years. There are a few dozens of stone companies in Szydłowiec county itself. They are looking for qualified staff.
Therefore, close cooperation between school and stone companies will be very important for authorities of the new school. The school staff will teach modern stone processing methods with the help of a modern machinery park and an access to the latest technologies. It seems that the offer of the school should attract a lot of students.
