Stone fairs in the same time? |
We know the date of the Stone 2009 fair in Poznan. Stone 2009, since it is the official name of the fair this year, is going to be held on 4-7 November. Kamien fair in Wroclaw is going to take place at the same time. The date of Poznan fair this year was surprising for everyone. The organisation of the Stone 2009 fair almost on the same days as the largest fair in Poland (Kamien in Wroclaw is going to start only one day later) will surely cause confusion. As the organisers of Poznan fair say, the date was suggested by the representatives of stone industry.
They also say that in the situation of economic crisis many companies cannot afford to be at the fair twice. Besides, the organisers gave up the idea - also, as they say, on request of the exhibitors from stone industry - of combining this event with glass fair.
For many companies the choice which fair to go to will be a serious problem. After announcing an earlier date of fair, which previously were to be called Glass&Stone 2009 and be held on 14 November, many companies, especially non-Polish ones, declared that they were going to appear in Poznań. However, the fact that Strzegom is nearby and, most of all, the tradition of Wrocław fair, are great advantages of this fair and prove that the same date for both these fairs is not a good idea.
- It is a big surprise for me - says Malgorzata Soltys from Geoservice-Christi, the organiser of Kamien fair in Wrocław. - Together with MTP (International Poznan Fair) we are members of the Polish Chamber of Fair Industry whose statute says about cooperation. Recently, the president of MTP accused Kolporter company of organising (in their new exhibition centre) the fair on the same day as Poznan fair. Now he is doing the same as Kolporter did - says Malgorzata Soltys. The organisers of Poznan fair say that they wanted to cooperate with Wroclaw fair organisers but their proposal was rejected.
