The town of Strzegom, known as a capital of Polish stone industry, has just announced program proposals to the event which aims at promoting regional natural resources. The days of Strzegom granite will take place this year on 21-23 June. The organisers have planned a lot of attractions under the interdisciplinary event Art-Synteza.

From 29 May to 1 June the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre will be associated only with natural stone. Stone+tec, that is the International Trade Fair Natural Stone and Stone Processing Technology, will be held those days. The event is organised every two years and is one of the world’s largest meeting places of exhibitors and customers related with stone industry.

The largest stone fair in Asia is history now. On 6-9 March 2013 stone specialists could meet almost 2,000 exhibitors who were given as many as 158,000 sq metres of the exhibition area. Especially for the fair, the organisers put into use a newly built 30,000 sq metre exhibition area.

The red marble from Languedoc will finally reach the royal castle in Versailles. There would be nothing surprising in it unless the stone was ordered 343 years ago by the king Louis XIV. Such a long delay is a result of … an oversight. In 1670 king Louis XIV paid in advance for a famous red marble from a well-known quarry in Minervois. The monarch, however, was so busy because of being all the time at war, that he forgot about the transport of luxurious raw material which was supposed to decorate his castle. This fact is proven by a recently found document.

In March there was a meeting of distributors, potential and existing customers of Thibaut. The meeting took place in Vire (Normandy) at the headquarters of the company. Open days for customers are organised every year and attract a lot of customers from France and abroad. Every time Thibaut presents not only its machines but also production processes and quality control. All of this allows for building lasting relations between the machine manufacturer and their users.

More than 400 exhibitors, including 130 from outside Brazil, came to the capital city of Espírito Santo state on 26 February – 1 March. With 330,000 inhabitants, this Brazilian city (the capital city of Espírito Santo state) situated by the Atlantic Ocean hosted a few thousand of stone industry specialists at the 35th edition of Victoria Stone Fair.

Salon Kamienia (the Stone Exhibition) in Kielce finished on 7 April. It was held at the same time as the Fair Dom (Housing Exhibition), Ogród i Ty (Garden Fair). We cannot, however, speak about a success of this event. The stone branch was represented by just few companies, for example Promasz, Śląskie Kruszywa Naturalne, Przedsiębiorstwo Przerobu Kamienia Budowlanego “Prodmar” from Suków, Zakład Kamieniarski “Przywała” from Chęciny and Marmor Ewelina Kos. The representatives of funeral branch and stone tools manufacturers were absent. There were also no foreign exhibitors.
